Gelanesaurus flavogularis can be identified by the presence of calcareous spinules on the flounces of its hemipenis.
Tail Morphology
Its tail is slightly compressed and lacks tubercles.
Neck and Gular Region Morphology
Tubercles are also absent from the sides of the neck and the gular region.
Species Distribution
This species is found in Napo and Tungurahua Provinces, located in eastern Ecuador.
Habitat and Altitude Range
Its preferred natural habitat is freshwater wetlands within forest, at altitudes ranging from 1,440 to 1,800 m (4,720 to 5,910 ft).
Reproduction Knowledge Status
The mode of reproduction of G. flavogularis is currently unknown.
