About Gaylussacia mosieri Small

Gaylussacia mosieri, commonly called the hirsute huckleberry or woolly huckleberry, is a plant species native to the coastal plains of the southeastern United States, specifically Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, Georgia, and Florida. This species is a shrub that can reach up to 150 cm (5 feet) tall, and it sometimes forms small colonies. Its shoots are covered in reddish hairs. Flowers grow in groups of 4 to 8, and are either white or pink. The fruits produced by this shrub are black, sweet, and juicy, and the species grows in swamps and marshes.
