Its common names include marsupian frog and common marsupial frog. The now synonymized taxa Leptodactylus andicola and Eleutherodactylus andicola also have the common name Boettger's robber frog, which is associated with this species.
Habitat
It is a locally common frog that can be found in primary, secondary, and disturbed cloud forests and montane forests within the valleys of the central Andes.
