About Gastrophora henricaria Guenée, 1857

Gastrophora is a monotypic moth genus belonging to the family Geometridae. Its only recognized species is Gastrophora henricaria, which is commonly known as the fallen bark looper or the beautiful leaf moth. This species is found in the southeastern corner of Australia. Both the genus Gastrophora and the species Gastrophora henricaria were first described by Achille Guenée in 1857. Adult Gastrophora henricaria have a wingspan of approximately 50 millimeters. The larvae of this species feed on plants from Eucalyptus species and Lophostemon confertus.
