About Ganoderma brownii (Murrill) Gilb.
Ganoderma brownii (Murrill) Gilb. is a perennial, sessile, concentrically zonate polypore. Its fruit bodies reach 5โ65 cm (2.0โ25.6 in) in length, and can display a range of dull tones from brown to gray. This fungus parasitizes both conifers and hardwoods, and prefers growing on hardwoods. Its pore surface is white, but readily changes to shades of brown when damaged. As documented by Michael Kuo, G. brownii has larger spores than G. applanatum; its spores measure 9โ12 by 7โ9 ฮผm.
