About Gamochaeta pensylvanica (Willd.) Cabrera
Gamochaeta pensylvanica, commonly called Pennsylvania cudweed or Pennsylvania everlasting, is a widespread flowering plant species belonging to the family Asteraceae. It is native to South America, and has been introduced to Eurasia, Africa, Australia, and North America. The specific epithet pensylvanica is a misnomer: the species is not native to Pennsylvania, and is only marginally naturalized in the area. Gamochaeta pensylvanica is an annual herb that grows up to 50 cm (20 in) tall. Its leaves reach up to 7 cm (2.8 in) in length, and appear light green due to woolly hairs covering their surfaces. These hairs are not as dense as those found on some closely related species. This plant produces many small flower heads arranged in elongated clusters. Each flower head holds 3–4 purple disc flowers, and contains no ray flowers.
