Its native native range extends from the Black Sea region—including Greece, Turkey, Bulgaria, Romania, Ukraine, Belarus, Russia, and the Caucasus—to Iran, Central Asia, Pakistan, Xinjiang, Mongolia, and several smaller adjacent countries. This species has been documented as a waif that does not persist long-term in the wild in Washington state, United States.
