About Galium divaricatum Pourr. ex Lam.
Galium divaricatum Pourr. ex Lam. is a small annual herb that produces thin spreading stems that can grow up to 30 centimeters long. Its small, pointed leaves grow in whorls of up to eight around the stem. This species bears white flowers, and its fruit is a hairless nutlet. This plant is native to the Mediterranean Basin, the Black Sea region (ranging from Portugal and Morocco to Turkey and Crimea), and the Macaronesia archipelago. It has become naturalized in Belgium, Switzerland, Australia, New Zealand, Hawaii, and scattered locations across the mainland United States.
