Galerita bicolor (Drury, 1773) is generally 17.0 to 22.5 millimeters in length. It is a large, elongated beetle with a two-tone red and black coloration. Its head is narrow and smaller than its body. The elytra are black, ridged, and covered with setae on the basal third. Its antennae are pale, and their base is somewhat wider than the rest of the antennae. The pronotum is red. This species can be found in an area ranging from New York to Florida, and westward to South Dakota and Texas.
