Gagea villosa, commonly known as the hairy star of Bethlehem, is a plant species in the lily family native to Eurasia and North Africa. It occurs across Europe, North Africa, and Western Asia. Its distribution stretches from Spain and Morocco eastward to Russia and Iran, and reaches as far north as Sweden. This species was first formally described for scientific literature by Bieberstein in 1808.
