Its distribution covers the area of the Democratic Republic of the Congo that lies south of the Congo River, as well as western Angola and northern Namibia.

Habitat

This species is primarily associated with dense woodland habitats; in Namibia, it also occurs in vegetation growing on granite outcrops.

Activity and Foraging

The Congo rope squirrel is diurnal and arboreal, but it also forages for food on the ground.
