About Fritillaria glauca Greene
Fritillaria glauca Greene is an uncommon wildflower. It produces a short stem that ranges from 5 to 20 cm (2.0 to 7.9 inches) tall, surrounded by two to four thick, sickle-shaped leaves. Plants sometimes have a stunted appearance, with curled or warped stems, and the species often grows in exposed mountainous areas. Its flower is nodding and bears six thick tepals 1 to 2 cm long; the tepals are yellow to purple in color and densely mottled. The fruits produced by this species are winged.
