About Fritillaria eastwoodiae R.M.Macfarl.
Fritillaria eastwoodiae reaches 20 to 80 centimeters tall, and bears linear to narrowly lanceolate leaves along its glaucous stem. The flowers are nodding, with tepals that are slightly flared and slightly recurved, meaning curved backwards. Flower color ranges from greenish-yellow with mottling, to a mottled mixture of red, orange, green, and yellow. This species grows in dry open woodlands and chaparral at elevations between 500 and 1500 meters. Within California, it is found in Shasta, Yuba, Tehama, Butte and El Dorado Counties, and there are also reports of it growing in Jackson County, Oregon. It grows in the same type of habitat alongside Fritillaria affinis, Fritillaria micrantha, and Fritillaria recurva. It blooms from March through May, and can sometimes be found growing on serpentine soils.
