About Forestiera ligustrina (Michx.) Poir.
Forestiera ligustrina, commonly known as southern-privet, is a shrub belonging to the olive family, Oleaceae. It is native to the Southeastern United States. Its natural habitats include upland calcareous woodlands, glades, and coastal shell middens. It can be told apart from the closely similar Forestiera godfreyi by several features: it has smaller leaves with less pubescent (hair-covered) petioles, and its twig pubescence is arranged in two lines, unlike the uniform twig pubescence found on Forestiera godfreyi. This species flowers from mid to late summer.
