The little pied flycatcher, scientifically Ficedula westermanni, is a bird species that belongs to the Muscicapidae family. It is native to the Himalayas and Southeast Asia. In 1888, R.B. Sharpe formally described this species, originally assigning it the binomial name Muscicapula westermanni. This description was based on a specimen collected by Leonard Ray in Malaysia, and the species was named in honor of Gerardus Frederik Westerman. Its natural habitats are subtropical or tropical moist lowland forest, and subtropical or tropical moist montane forest.
