This species is located in central North America, with a range extending north into Quebec, Ontario, and Manitoba. The wingspan of adult Feltia tricosa measures approximately 35 mm. In the northern part of its range, adult moths are active in flight from July through September. It is thought that the larvae of this species feed on a very broad range of different plants.
