Falcaria vulgaris Bernh., commonly known as sickleweed or longleaf, is the only species classified in the genus Falcaria. It is a biennial herb with a rounded growth form. This species flowers from June to July. It grows naturally in Europe, Siberia, the Middle East, Northern Africa, North America, and South America. Falcaria vulgaris contains alkaloids, carotene, vitamin C, and proteins. When used as an alternative medicine, it may provide several benefits, particularly for treating stomach and skin ulcers, diabetes, infections, and liver and kidney disorders.
