About Evergestis pallidata Hufnagel, 1767
Evergestis pallidata is a species of moth in the Crambidae family. It was originally described by Johann Siegfried Hufnagel in 1767 under the current scientific name. This moth is found in Europe, throughout the Palearctic realm, and in North America. The wingspan of adults measures 24 to 29 millimeters. The primary base color of the forewings is a glossy yellow, with brown-red markings including transverse lines, stigmata, and veins that together form a mesh-like pattern. The hindwings are bright, clean white with a few incomplete brown lines. Adults fly from June through September, with the exact timing varying by location. The larvae of Evergestis pallidata feed on plant species from the Brassicaceae family, with a particular preference for Barbarea vulgaris.
