About Euxoa decora (Denis & Schiffermüller), 1775

This species, Euxoa decora, has a typical wingspan ranging from 38 to 41 mm. Warren's description notes that for E. decora Schiff. (also referenced as nebulosa Hbn., marcens Chr.) (6d), the forewings are dull ash-grey, and sometimes carry a brownish or ochreous tinge. The wing lines are dark and often indistinct; the stigmata are pale, and sometimes ochreous. When the claviform stigma is present, it is yellowish. The hindwings are dull fuscous, and the base is paler in males. It is common in the mountains of Central Europe and in Armenia. The aberration ab. livida Stgr. (6d) has dark purplish grey ground colour, with clearly defined stigmata; the orbicular stigma is round and sometimes filled with ochreous.
