About Euxoa bostoniensis Grote, 1874

Euxoa bostoniensis, commonly known as the Boston dart or drab cutworm, is a moth species belonging to the family Noctuidae. Its distribution ranges from Ontario and Maine in the north-east, south to North Carolina, west to Missouri, and north to Michigan. It has additionally been recorded in Florida, California, and South Dakota. This moth has a wingspan of 40 to 45 mm. Adult Euxoa bostoniensis are active in May, and have a second active period from September to October. The larvae of this species feed on plants in the Nicotiana genus, though the moth itself can also be found in regions where tobacco does not grow.
