About Euthamia graminifolia (L.) Nutt.
Euthamia graminifolia (L.) Nutt. is a herbaceous plant that grows with thin, branching stems. Its leaves are alternate, simple, and long and narrow, closely resembling grass leaves—this similarity is what gives the species its scientific name. A single individual can produce many small yellow flower heads arranged in flat-topped clusters, which can sometimes reach up to 30 cm (1 foot) across. Each individual flower head holds 7–35 ray florets, which surround 3–13 disc florets. The species is very commonly found growing in fallow fields, waste places, fencerows, and vacant lots across many regions.
