About Euthalia durga Moore, 1857

Euthalia durga Moore, 1857 resembles Euthalia duda, but is much rarer. On its forewing, the white median band is broader, and the subapical spots are smaller. On its hindwing, the median area is steeper and dentate along its distal edge. The underside of its wings is primarily blue, rather than yellowish-green, and the distal portion of both wings is nearly grey-black. This species is found in Sikkim, the Abor Hills, and Nagaland. In June 2022, it was declared the State Butterfly of Sikkim.
