About Euscirrhopterus poeyi Grote, 1866

Euscirrhopterus poeyi, commonly known as the pullback moth, is a moth species belonging to the family Noctuidae. This species was first formally described by Augustus Radcliffe Grote in 1866. Its distribution ranges from southern Florida and Mexico, through Central America, all the way to Brazil. It can also be found in the Caribbean region, including on the island of Cuba. Adults of this species show sexual dimorphism: females have a wingspan of approximately 34 millimeters, while males have a larger wingspan of around 38 millimeters. The larvae of Euscirrhopterus poeyi feed on Pisonia aculeata.
