About Euplexia lucipara (Linnaeus, 1758)

Technical description: The forewing is rufous ochreous, with a purple tinge and mixed olive brown coloring. The median area, a triangular blotch on the inner margin near the base, and a narrow praesubmarginal cloud are deep olive. The forewing lines are indistinct, and the outer and inner lines approach one another on the inner margin. The claviform stigma is olive with a dark edge. The orbicular stigma is roundish and oblique, with a paler ring. The reniform stigma is noticeably whitish, and contains a double brown lunule. The submarginal line is pale and waved. The veins toward the termen are dotted dark and pale. The hindwing is ochreous, with a dark cell mark and dark veins, and is darker in its terminal half, where a dark outer line and a dark submarginal line, both with pale edges, are visible. Distribution: This species is found across all of Europe, in Algeria, in western Asia, and throughout the Palearctic realm extending to Siberia, China, and Japan.
