About Eupithecia tenuiata (Hübner)
Eupithecia tenuiata (Hübner) is a single-brooded geometrid species, and one of the smallest in the group, with a wingspan of just 14–16 mm. The ground colour of its forewings is light greyish ochreous. It has numerous curved dark fuscous striae, with ochreous brown veins and costa. The edges of its biangulate median band form dark costal spots. It has a dark ovoid discal mark on the forewing, and the forewings do not have a tornal spot. The hindwings are whitish grey with dark striae and a small discal spot. This species flies at night during June and July. It is attracted to light, and can be found resting on the trunks of large sallows during the day. It is distributed throughout Europe, and also occurs in Armenia, the Caucasus, Georgia and Turkey.
