About Eupithecia oxycedrata (Rambur, 1833)
Eupithecia oxycedrata (Rambur, 1833) is a species of moth belonging to the family Geometridae. This moth can be found across a wide range of locations: Spain, southern Portugal, the Balearic Islands, southern France, Corsica, Sardinia, Sicily, Malta, Italy, Slovenia, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Bulgaria, Greece, Crete, western Romania, the Crimea, North Africa from Morocco to Tunisia, and Turkey. It inhabits dry maquis environments, particularly areas where junipers grow. The wingspan of Eupithecia oxycedrata ranges from 16 to 19.5 millimeters. This species produces two generations each year. Adults of the first generation are active on the wing from early April to late June, while adults of the second generation are active from early September to mid October. The larvae of Eupithecia oxycedrata feed on the needles and flowers of Juniperus oxycedrus.
