About Euphyia unangulata (Haworth, 1809)
This species, scientifically named Euphyia unangulata (Haworth, 1809), has a wingspan of 25–28 mm. Its forewings feature a brownish central band, whose outer white edge is sharply angled. A narrow white line runs through the basal area of the forewings, and two dark discal spots lie within the central area of the brown band. The larva of this species is purplish brown, with a series of black and white square spots along its back, and it has rather short bristles. In terms of distribution, this species occurs across most of Europe, and extends through the Palearctic region all the way to Japan and the Kamchatka Peninsula.
