About Euphorbia tenax Burch.

Euphorbia tenax Burch. is a species of the Euphorbia genus that is endemic to South Africa. Within South Africa, it grows in the Northern Cape and Western Cape provinces, occurring around Kotzesrus and extending southwards to areas as far as Nieuwoudtville and Cape Town. The preferred habitat of Euphorbia tenax is sand Fynbos and Succulent Karoo vegetation growing on shale-derived slopes. This species is one of several closely related "stick euphorbias", a group that also includes Euphorbia burmanii, Euphorbia rhombifolia and Euphorbia stolonifera; these stick euphorbias are widespread across southern Africa.
