About Euphorbia serpens Kunth

Euphorbia serpens Kunth is an annual herb that forms a low mat from prostrate stems, which develop roots at nodes that touch the ground. Its oval leaves grow in opposite pairs, and each leaf is less than one centimeter long. The plant's inflorescence is a cyathium, with scalloped white petal-like appendages that surround the actual flowers. Each appendage has a red nectar gland at its base, and the center of the cyathium holds several male flowers arranged around a single female flower. The plant produces a lobed, spherical capsule as its fruit.
