About Euphorbia rosescens E.L.Bridges & Orzell

Description: Even though Euphorbia rosescens is a small plant, it grows a very deep root system, with around 50 times more biomass underground than above ground. Once it is established, this root system helps the plant survive disturbances, and individual plants often grow new shoots after fires or mechanical disruption. Habitat: This species grows in exposed sandy soils in fire-dependent Florida scrub habitats. It tends to favor low-lying depressions found in deep, white sand scrub areas, where it often grows alongside Florida rosemary and scrub-adapted oak species. These oaks include, but are not limited to, sand live oak, scrub oak, and Chapman's oak.
