About Euphorbia platyphyllos L.
Euphorbia umbella is quinquefida (almost quadrifida), dichotoma. The primary involucells are tetraphyllis. The leaves are serrated, lance - shaped, and sessile. According to Diss. euph. 41, Euphorbia is inermis, with alternate, lance - shaped, amplexicaul, and slightly serrated leaves. The universal umbella is quinquefida and pentaphylla, and the partial ones are bifidis. In Hort. ups. 141, it is described as Euphorbia inermis, with lance - shaped leaves, the universal umbella and the first - order partial umbella are quinquefida, the second is trifida, and the rest are bifidis, as also mentioned in Roy. lugdb. 198 and Dalib. paris. 156. It is also known as Tithymalus arvensis latifolius germanicus in Bauh. pin. 291 and Tithymalus platyphyllos in Fuchs. hist. 813.
