Euphorbia mesembryanthemifolia Jacq. is a flowering plant species belonging to the spurge family, Euphorbiaceae. Its common English names are seaside spurge and coastal beach sandmat. In Spanish, it is called alfombra de arena costera, which translates literally to "coastal sand carpet". This species is native to the Western Hemisphere. It grows in coastal areas ranging from Florida in the United States southward to Colombia and Venezuela, and is also found in Bermuda and the Caribbean. Its natural habitat consists of beaches and rocky shores. Euphorbia mesembryanthemifolia is an erect or sprawling subshrub that bears opposite, glaucous leaves. It produces flowers year-round.
