About Euphorbia hierosolymitana Boiss.
Euphorbia hierosolymitana Boiss. is a spineless, hairless shrub. It may grow up to 3 meters tall, often has many densely clustered stems with little branching, but can also grow in a more open, tree-like form. When in flower, its yellow ray leaves give the entire plant a distinctly yellowish appearance. This species has untoothed leaves, rounded unhorned flower glands, 5 mm fruits that are heavily warty, and smooth seeds. It is naturally distributed across the East Aegean Islands, Egypt, Lebanon-Syria, Israel, areas of the Palestine Authority, Sinai, Transcaucasus, and Turkey. In Turkey, it grows on limestone rocks and cliffs, in open forest, at elevations between 5 and 300 meters. Illustrations and photographs of this species are available on iNaturalist.
