About Eupatorium pilosum Walter

Eupatorium pilosum, commonly called rough boneset, is a rare North American plant species belonging to the Asteraceae family. It is native to the eastern and south-central United States, occurring in every coastal state ranging from Massachusetts to Texas, and extending inland as far as Kentucky. Eupatorium pilosum is a perennial herb that can sometimes grow over 100 cm (40 inches) tall, and spreads via underground rhizomes. The plant produces large showy clusters of numerous tiny flower heads, each containing 5 white disc florets with no ray florets.
