About Eupatorium leptophyllum DC.
Eupatorium leptophyllum, commonly known as false fennel, is a herbaceous perennial plant belonging to the Asteraceae family. It is native to the southeastern United States, where its range extends from Mississippi to the Carolinas. Like other species in the genus Eupatorium, it reaches a height of one to two meters, or 40 to 80 inches. Its inflorescences hold a large number of tiny white flower heads; each flower head contains 5 disc florets and has no ray florets. E. leptophyllum grows in wet environments, and can grow in shallow water, most often at the edges of ponds.
