About Eumorpha vitis Linnaeus, 1758
Eumorpha vitis was first described by Linnaeus in 1758. This species has a wingspan ranging from 85 to 105 mm. Its core distribution extends northward from Argentina, passing through Central America, the West Indies, and Mexico, to reach southern Arizona, Texas, Mississippi, and Florida in the United States. Stray individuals of this species have been found as far north as Nebraska.
