About Eumolpus robustus (Horn, 1885)

Adults of Eumolpus robustus measure 10 to 14 millimeters in length. Their bodies are green, blue, coppery, or purple in color, and they have shiny elytra with strong punctures. The distribution of E. robustus ranges from Central America northward to Mexico and the U.S. state of Arizona. Within Central America, the species has been recorded in Costa Rica, Nicaragua, El Salvador, Honduras, and Guatemala. E. robustus feeds on plants belonging to the family Apocynaceae. In Central America, it is associated with plants from the genera Gonolobus and Funastrum. In Mexico, it has been recorded feeding on the species Parkinsonia aculeata.
