This moth is native to tropical regions of the Western Hemisphere, with confirmed populations documented in Mexico, Costa Rica, Guyana, Peru, Uruguay, and Argentina. The first recorded observation of this species in Texas, United States, was published by Ed Knudson and Charles Bordelon in 2004.
