About Eudonia trivirgata Felder

Eudonia trivirgata Felder (originally published as Crambus trivirgatus) is a moth species belonging to the family Crambidae. It was first formally described in 1875 by Cajetan Felder, Rudolf Felder, and Alois Friedrich Rogenhofer. This species is endemic to New Zealand. Its wingspan measures 16 to 23 mm. The forewings are whitish ochreous, with veins lined with white. A blackish-fuscous median streak runs from the base of the forewing to the apex, interrupted by a narrow bar before the middle. There is also a blackish-fuscous longitudinal wedge-shaped mark above the anal angle, and a hindmarginal row of cloudy blackish dots is usually present. The hindwings are grey whitish in males and whitish grey in females. Adult moths have been recorded on wing in December, February, and March.
