About Eudonia legnota Meyrick

Eudonia legnota is a species of moth in the Crambidae family. It was first described and named by Edward Meyrick in 1884, and it is endemic to New Zealand. This moth has a wingspan that ranges from 18 to 23 mm. Its forewings are a pale brownish-ochreous color, with dark fuscous or blackish speckling along the veins. The first forewing line is white, with whitish suffusion on its anterior side and a dark margin on its posterior side. The second forewing line is also white, and there is a row of black dots along the hindmargin of the forewings. The moth's hindwings are an ochreous-grey-whitish shade. Adult Eudonia legnota have been recorded in flight during December and January.
