About Eudonia feredayi Knaggs, 1867

Eudonia feredayi is a species of moth belonging to the family Crambidae. It was first described by Henry Guard Knaggs in 1867. This moth is endemic to New Zealand. The wingspan of adult Eudonia feredayi measures 18 to 21 millimeters. Its forewings are reddish ochreous in color, and are sprinkled (technically called irrorated) with dark reddish brown scales. The first forewing line is whitish, with a dark margin along its posterior edge. The second forewing line is white, with a dark margin along its anterior edge. The hindwings are pale whitish grey, with an ochreous tinge. The postmedian line and hindmarginal band on the hindwings are a darker shade of grey. Adult moths of this species have been recorded in flight between the months of January and March.
