About Eucosma giganteana (Riley, 1881)

Eucosma giganteana, commonly known as the giant eucosma moth, is a moth species belonging to the family Tortricidae. This species is found in the United States, with confirmed records ranging from North Carolina to Florida, and from Minnesota to Texas. It has also been recorded in the states of Pennsylvania, North Dakota, and New Mexico. The wingspan of adult individuals measures between 34 and 38 millimeters. Adult giant eucosma moths have been recorded in flight during January, and again from April through September. The larvae of this moth species feed on Silphium perfoliatum.
