About Eucopina tocullionana (Heinrich, 1920)

Eucopina tocullionana (also known as Eucosma tocullionana), commonly called the white pine cone borer, is a moth species belonging to the family Tortricidae. This moth is distributed in North America, ranging from Minnesota to Quebec, and extending south through the Appalachian Mountains to northern Georgia. The wingspan of adult Eucopina tocullionana measures approximately 18 millimeters. Adult moths can be encountered from early May through August. This species produces one generation each year. Its larvae develop and feed inside the cones of Pinus strobus and Pinus virginiana. Larvae of this species can be found from mid-June to the end of August.
