About Eublemma recta Guenée, 1852

Eublemma recta, commonly called the straight-lined seed moth, is a moth species that belongs to the family Erebidae. Achille Guenée first described this species in 1852. In the United States, its distribution ranges from South Carolina to Florida, extending west to Texas. It is also found further south, all the way to Argentina, as well as on the Caribbean islands of Cuba, Jamaica, and Puerto Rico. The wingspan of adult Eublemma recta measures between 16 and 19 millimetres, which is 0.63 to 0.75 inches. The caterpillar larvae of this species feed on a variety of plants from the Convolvulaceae family, including species from the genera Ipomoea and Convolvulus.
