About Erythrodiplax unimaculata (De Geer, 1773)
Erythrodiplax unimaculata (De Geer, 1773) individuals have wings with brown tips. Female specimens, however, often only have basal spots on the wings. The forewings may have a yellowish shadow-like marking. On the hind wings, a red-yellow coloration is somewhat more widespread; this color is diffuse anteriorly, and it is not very sharply defined up to the 1st antenodal transverse artery, extending to or slightly past the transverse artery of the submedian space. Documented observations of Erythrodiplax unimaculata come from Brazil, Colombia, and Peru. Observations aggregated in the Global Biodiversity Information Facility indicate that this species has a broader range across the northern half of South America.
