About Erythranthe rhodopetra N.S.Fraga

Erythranthe rhodopetra, commonly called the Red Rock Canyon monkeyflower, is a species of flowering plant in the Erythranthe genus. This is a rare plant species that is native to Kern County, California, in the United States. The California Native Plant Society states this species is only known to occur in the El Paso Mountains. Many of its recorded occurrences are historical, and new field surveys are needed to confirm its current status. It may be threatened by mining, off-vehicle activity, general recreational activities, foot traffic, and non-native plant species. It was previously identified as Erythranthe palmeri, and it is similar in appearance to that species.
