About Erythranthe laciniata (A.Gray) G.L.Nesom
Erythranthe laciniata (A.Gray) G.L.Nesom is an annual herb. It produces a mostly hairless stem that reaches a maximum height between 3 and 38 centimeters. Its leaves are arranged oppositely, grow up to 5 centimeters long, and are generally oval in shape, though some leaves are divided into lobes. Its inflorescence is a raceme holding several tiny yellow flowers marked with red spots; each individual flower measures from 4 millimeters to 1.5 centimeters long. The tubular base of each flower is enclosed in a ribbed, reddish calyx made of sepals. This species is endemic to the High Sierra Nevada region of California, where it most frequently grows in moist areas on granitic soils.
