Erysiphe penicillata (Wallr.) Link is a plant pathogen that causes powdery mildew on alder. There have also been reports of this pathogen infecting specific Corylus species, specifically Corylus sieboldiana, Corylus colurna, and Corylus heterophylla. However, according to the findings of Bradshaw et al. (2021), these reports of infection on Corylus are considered doubtful.
