This species of flowering plant, currently known as Eritrichium rupestre (Georgi) Bunge, is also referred to by the synonym Amblynotus rupestris. It belongs to the flowering plant family Boraginaceae. When placed under the genus Amblynotus, it is the only species within that genus. It is a subshrub native to Kazakhstan, Xinjiang, Mongolia, southern Siberia, and northern China.
