About Eriospermum lanceifolium Jacq. ex Willd.

Eriospermum lanceifolium Jacq. ex Willd. produces a single erect, slender lanceolate leaf that measures 16 cm long by 4–5 cm wide. The leaf has wavy margins, which are sometimes hairy, is blue in colour, and has a tough, leathery texture. This species grows from a lumpy, irregular tuber that is pinkish on the inside. It is indigenous to the Western Cape, South Africa, where it grows in granite or sandstone soils. Its range extends from the Olifants River mountains to the town of Albertinia.
